This paper storage box is 8 1/2″ tall on the back, 5″ in the front. To make it, I took an empty cereal box and marked the measurements on the front and back then used a ruler to draw a diagonal line down the large sides. I cut the box using ordinary scissors, then used the trimmings from the short edge to reinforce the bottom of the box where there is a seam.
Finally, I covered the box with a scrap of Contact paper that I found in my craft supplies. This is part of a roll I bought at Dollar Tree some time ago. You could certainly embrace the cereal box, or use wrapping paper or paint to decorate.
The finished box is perfect for 6″ x 8″ or 6″ x 6″ decorative paper pads. The box is not big enough for 8 1/2″ wide paper.
