5 journaling spots, one easy project

All measurements are provided based on a journal that is 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”.

You will need 3 whole sheets of kraft cardstock and additional smaller pieces of cardstock to make tags.  The tags measure 3 1/4 x 8 1/2, 5 x 7, 3 x 5, and 4 1/2 x 8 1/2.

  1. Fold one sheet of kraft paper in half to 5 1/2 s 8 1/2.  Trim to 8 1/4 x 5 1/4.
  2. Cut one sheet of kraft paper to 4 1/4 x 11 and glue ends together to make a strip 4 1/4 x 22.  Z fold this strip at 4 1/2, 9, 13 1/2, and 18 inches.
  3. Cut one sheet of kraft paper to 4 x 8 1/4.  Attach to front of folded page to make a top-opening pocket.  This pocket will hold the 3 1/4 x 8 1/2 inch tag.
  4. Glue the folded page at top and bottom edges to make a side-opening pocket.  This pocket will hold the 5 x 7 tag.
  5. Attach Z fold strip to front of folded page on three sides to make a top-opening pocket.  This pocket will hold the 3 x 5 tag.
  6. Attach the entire folded page to your journal on three sides to make a top-opening pocket.  This pocket will hold the 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 tag.
